A lot of talk has been going on lately about the health care bill that has been going through congress. Our president and his supporters have been pushing very hard to get this bill passed as soon as possible. "What's taking so long?" they complain, "this is the right thing to do, so lets just pass it!" they yell. If you are at least somewhat familiar with the process that our congress has for passing law, you know that each bill must be read before the house of representatives and the senate before being voted on.

College Plans

These past few months, especially since graduating from NTBI, I have been weighing options for finishing my college education, and I have finally come up with a solid plan. I mentioned in a previous post that I have been considering getting a degree in electrical engineering. The method I will be using for this goal is as follows: for the purpose of keeping cost and time down, I will be doing 16 transferable credits with College Plus (a test for credit system), and then transferring to University of Colorado Denver. While looking at colleges, I had narrowed it down to UCD, and Mines.

It has recently come to my attention that the year is not 2009 anymore. This realization has been somewhat of an irritation in situations such as check writing. The realization that you just screwed up your check blank after you've already filled out the rest of it, the irritated look from the other party to your sheepish look as you fumble with another check... Things like that. However, since it is in fact a new year, this also means that I have not yet posted on my "blog" this year (and the debate about whether or not I posted last year is still going on).

Santa Cruz

Not much to report today. We made it to Santa Cruz via bus today, and found out that the place we were going to stay could no longer accomidate us. After calling around a little, we ended up at a mission home in kind of a rough part of town, but we have a place to stay. I´m at an internet Café a couple blocks away, sitting next to a bunch of gamers. We´re going to get dinner in about an hour, then tomorrow I´m not sure what the plan is besides catching our flight to Miami. Pray that we won´t get mugged or anything :-)

Goodbye Facebook RSS

Today I have disconnected my site from facebook. I finally got tired of facebook taking over my web presence, and decided that my website is going to be it's own entity, not connected to any social networking site. I might also add a photo section to my site again, and use it for my photo publishing instead of facebook.

THIS IS A REVOLT! I AM NOT DEFINED BY FACEBOOK! MWA HA HA HA!!!

The Past? When Did I Pass it Anyway?

I got to thinking today, how long has it been since I first put a website online? And how many different versions have I gone through? After sifting through some old posts, I've come up with some dates. The current site, thenetninja.com, was launched on 10/23/2007. Posts older than that were imported from my previous domain, webn8.net, which was launched on 7-15-06.

Spring Break!

Time for an update. I am now on spring break! Which means no more classes for a few days, and also in this case means.... ROAD TRIP!!! :-D :-D Yep, that's right. I'm on the road. Well, not at the moment. At the moment, I'm sitting on the couch in my parents living room with Talitha asleep next to me. We left Waukesha on the morning of the 10th and drove to Holdrege NE, where Talitha got to meet most of my extended family all at once! The timing was a little interesting on this one, but my grandma passed away on the 8th, so we ended up going to the funeral on the 11th on our way to CO.

News from the past two months...

I think we might be going on a record of how long this blog has gone without a post.... Poor blog.... It must feel lonely out here in cyberspace all by itself.... Ahem! Yeah.... Enough sentimentality about a website. I'm such a nerd. Anyway, a-lot has happened in the past two months, which could be part of the reason why I haven't posted in such a long time... but I suppose it could be that I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Whatever the reason, I'll try and sum up the events of late, if a bit late. I am about midway through my third semester at NTBI.
